Just want to watch with filters? Get the ViewersCut extension at viewerscut.com

Make a list better in a minute.

Most contributions happen in the ViewersCut extension, while you watch. Your edits stay on your computer as a draft. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it, all of it or just one moment. You don't need an account. Sign in only if you want your name on your changes.

From the couch to the list

  1. Pause and open the editor

Turn on editing from the ViewersCut button. Editing shows the film unfiltered, so you can see what you're tagging.

  2. Mark the moment

Press [ where it starts and ] where it ends, then pick a category with 1–6. Nudge the edges by ear until it's right.

  3. Send it, or keep going

Send this one shares just that moment and you're back to the film. Or keep working, and use Review and send when you're done to see every change before it goes.

  4. See it land

New moments go live straight away. Removals, shorter timings and very long skips wait for a second reviewer, and the editor shows you when they're through. Everything you send is public domain (CC0), like the lists.

Tag one moment at a time.

Nobody writes a whole page here. The unit of work is one moment in one cut: when it starts, when it ends, what it is and how strong. Pick whatever fits the time you have.

Tag while you watch

Pause, open the editor in the extension, press [ and ] to mark a scene, pick a category, and send it. Then keep watching.

How the project works

Describe, don't decide

Lists say what is on screen and when, in short, neutral words. Each viewer's own filters decide what happens, so one list serves every family.

Additions go live fast. Removals wait.

An extra tag costs a viewer a second of film. A missing one can show a family what they chose to avoid. So removals, shorter timings and lower severities need a second reviewer.

Forkable by design

All list data is CC0 and can be downloaded whole. The history is public, anyone can run a mirror, and the extension can read lists from any number of sources.
